What is FSSAI?

FSSAI Food registration is required for anybody who handles food at any stage before it reaches the client, including those who handle raw materials, production, packaging, mess, packing, and delivery of canteens.

Different Classes of Licenses
Businesses with annual revenues under Rs. 12 lakhs can apply for a Basic FSSAI Food Safety Registration; businesses with revenues between Rs. 12 and Rs. 20 lakhs can apply for a state licence; and businesses with revenues over Rs. 20 lakhs can apply for a central licence.
Transfer/Changes/Alteration in the license
If the FSSAI License has already been issued, you must take certain steps to change it. To amend the FSSAI License or Registration, an application must essentially be submitted. FSSAI registration is sufficient for small businesses, while an FSSAI licence is necessary for large-scale food businesses. Though what if the FSSAI holder passes away?
In the case that the FSSAI licence holder passes away, the licence may be transferred to a legal representative or any surviving family members. The legal representative or a family member must request that the certificate be transferred in their favour to the appropriate authority. After verification, the Authority may approve or reject the application. by the FSSAI. However, the FSSAI License Authority is not permitted to reject the application without first giving the applicant the chance to be taken into consideration.
If the legal representative or any family member requests the transfer of the registration certificate in the event of the death of the licence or certificate holder, the FSSAI licence will only continue to exist. The FSSAI certificate expires if it is not presented within 90 days of the holder’s registration certificate or licence expiring.
NOTE: Only in the event of the License Holder’s death is a Transfer of License/Certificate permitted.
Procedure to Apply for Transfer of a License
To transfer a license visit this page and log in. Once you have logged in follow the steps described below.
Step:1 Move your mouse over “Duplicate/Surrender/Transfer of License(s)” and select “Apply for Duplicate/Surrender/Transfer of License(s)” from the drop-down menu, as shown in the image below, to submit an application for the transfer of a specific licence.
Step:2 As illustrated in the image below, click “Transfer” next to the licence number to submit an application for a licence transfer.
Step:3 Fill in the necessary details and click on proceed.
Step:4 The transfer application would be sent to DO’s account for further processing when the “Proceed” button had been pressed.
How to Apply for the Transfer of a Certificate?
Step:1 Move your mouse over “Duplicate/Surrender/Transfer of Certificate(s)” and select “Apply for Duplicate/Surrender/Transfer of Certificate(s)” from the drop-down menu, as shown in the picture below, to apply for the transfer of a specific certificate.
Step:2 Click “Transfer” next to the licence number as shown in the image below to submit an application for licence transfer: –
Step:3 Fill in the necessary details and click on proceed.
Step:4 After being clicked, the transfer application would be sent to RA’s account for further processing.
Once the application is processed and there are no issues, the certificate/license will be transferred as per request.
